Sicily Wine Safari June 2018

Sicily Wine Safari June 2018

We have just returned from another Sicily Wine Safari. An exciting, fun-packed, relaxing, yet educational discovery of Sicily, on another of our amazing tours

7 days, 6 nights starting in Palermo in the North of Sicily, visiting vineyards and places of interest in this amazing area, then onto Ragusa in the South, with all its natural beauty and countryside and finally venturing to Mount Etna and the Catania region of Eastern Sicily.

If you like the idea, then why not just us on one of our future tours, but book early, as we limit the wine tours to a maximum of 7 places to keep a friendly and personal touch, which we believe is the best way to tour these incredible wine regions.

Day 1.
After being met at Palermo airport, all our guests were taken in air conditioned luxury to Musa Sea Lodge; a delightful 4 star villa overlooking the stunning Gulf of Castellammare; a wonderful back drop and sunset followed, whilst enjoying a glass of sparkling wine and relaxing to gather thoughts of the coming wine tour.

Day 2.
After a hearty Sicilian breakfast there was a fascinating insight and introduction to Sicilian wines and terroir, all helped by the fabulous wines from #SanGiovanni and the lovely Daniela.

Then onto two wine tours around two of our wineries in the Palermo region that we import wines into the UK from.

Day 3.

This mornings gentle start took us to Tonnino winery, apricot picking, then a fabulous cookery course, presented by our hosts at the villa (also the owners birthday, so he joined in!) of homemade pasta with seafood and fresh, king prawn skewers in a garlic and white wine sauce, which, after it was prepared and cooked by our enthusiastic team, was eagerly eaten by us all, during which was to be the best sunset of the week!

Day 4.

On such a lovely, sunny day, a leisurely stroll around the wonderfully historic Palermo city centre was welcomed, including a fabulous lunch at one of Palermo’s famous ‘street Food’ Restaurants.

We then left the West behind and travelled East for the second part of the wine safari to the beautiful, green, country area of Ragusa and Vittoria in the South of the Island.
